Based off the Japanese phrase for “stupid foreigner,” Backpacker Gaijin is the journal of a sarcastic twenty-something, as he travels the world with his girlfriend.  Described by his friends as “the whitest person they know,” how will he deal with tropical climates, catastrophic culture shocks, and entire ecosystems evolved specifically to kill him?  Chances are, just like every middle-class traveller.  By whining about it on the internet.
